Overview

In the last 5 years major advances have been made in the fight against cancer using immunotherapy. These novel agents are now approved in Quebec and are being used more and more. Their side-effect profile and efficacy is very different from traditional chemotherapy agents. This presentation will review the advantaged of these new agents as well as the side-effect profile and what General Practioners need to know about their use.

Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Become familiar with the new immunotherapeutic agents being used to treat cancer
  • Become familiar with their side-effects and management as a general practioner
