Overview

Can we prevent allergies?  Are there new treatment options?  There has been a major shift in the approach and management of allergies.  Based on new research and clinical trials the evidence based recommendations have dramatically changed.  Understanding the science behind the shift will help physicians discuss thes options with patients and prepare them for what's coming in the near future.

Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the new guidelines for food introduction in infancy as an allergy prevention strategy
  • Understand the immunology behind the up and coming biologic therapies for allergies and asthma
  • Discuss new strategies for management of environmental and food allergies, risks and benefits.
